Stampless folded cover postmarked January 21, 1852, with red “New York Paid 3 Cts” marking, addressed to New Orleans. Upon arrival, struck with green “Feb. 1 N.O. City Post” snowshovel-style datestamp, boxed green “NOT FOUND”, and green “CAR 2” oval carrier marking. Returned to the post office and marked with red boxed “ADV.1.” (Advertised once).
